Addis' Dress Exploration

So here we are @ David's Bridal with all the other people who are getting married and they are trying on HORRIBLE dresses. Clearly they don't have the sense of style we possess...hehhee!! And why is Mama Crooks giving me that look you ask...hmmm who knows we all had a slick mouth watching people put on those dresses.

Ok, so this is the first dress, i believed Addis liked the top part...but when we found out that, that dress is used for Qunicieneras or however you spell that we all just about said NO

Now this dress Addis's mom thought her grandmother would absolutely love this dress b/c it definitely had that hispanic flair to it. I don't think Addis was to fond, but she didn't hate it. If the bottom wasn't tule she said it might have worked, especially with the train.

This is Tyana playing the fool...hehehhe!!!Ty and Shell, were entertaining themselves while Addis was trying on the dresses. I was helping put the beast of dresses on her. You don't realize how heavy and how much work you put into it.

Now, this dress had the "Coming to America" train...hehehe!! I believe Addis, didn't like this dress to much,it was the halter part, and the train had these flowers attached to it...a hott mess.

This dress was definitely a WINNER. She had the slender thing, plus a detachable train. Mama Crooks said it was her I'm a WOMAN dress. And she was definitely all woman. Ya'll know she ain't got no hips but she shonuff had some here. But the bonus was the dress made Addis have something we never see....not a butt....a BOOTYLICIOUS ASS...hehhee!! Todd's gonna be like "Damn, look at my baby's ASS. I know I made the best choice in marrying a woman with intelligence, beauty, and a Beyonce Booty"

Last but not least, this dress Addis liked as well, the train, and the fit.

So there ya'll go. It was a lot of fun. I'll be there with you Thursday with my GUCCI bag and the Chanel Glasses...cause they don't know how to treat black people until you show them you could get anything they got...cause it damn sure ain't hard. I'll catch that "I'm rich BITCH "attitude real quick if they try any of that mess the bride.

Wedding Dress Hunt

So I officially began looking for dresses on Monday with a visit to David's Bridal. I tried out a whole bunch of dresses including a Mexican number and a "Coming to America" look-alike. I did not break out in hives and it wasn't scary...in fact, it was kinda fun! I originally planned on going with Shellewah and my Mom because I wanted to do Jersey stores but Ebony and Tyana decided to drive over for the fun. Hopefully Ebo will post some of the pictures...the good, bad and ugly.

Anyways, I made an appointment at Kleinfled's for next Thrusday at 5:30pm. That is the real fru-fru store where dresses start at $1800 and go to the stratosphere. I just have to understand what is the difference between a $600 dress at David's Bridal and the couture version. If I prefer couture, then it's e-bay or the rental place. I will be leaving my Amex at home so that I am not talked into buying a crazy expensive dress under any circumstances!

Here is a picture of some of the dresses I hope to try on:

I Found My Dress!!!

Hey Fellow DIVAS,

So I saw people were posting and I wanted to join in on the fun.
Thanks Addis for the color change. I did like the eggplant, but it was hard to find a dress in that color. With that said ladies I have found MY DRESS!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!

It looks nice on the lady, but it will be DIVAFIED on me....hehehhe!!!

Favor links and photos!

Again, things I'm tossing out there that we might be could do for Addis.

Have you guys ever seen the bridal party favors? They're so cheesy! LOL, I'm not giving you people any of that, and I know my girl Addis will not get them either.

Now I know this will not be happening for Addis and Todd's wedding but I thought it was pretty funny.

Yes, it is a pink PT Cruiser limo, aka, the baby hearse!

LOL, I don't see it happening for Love Jones though.

This is a photo of a chocolate and pink themed wedding, but again just for idea purposes.

The pots on the tables were provided by the bride. Looks like we'd be painting post ladies!

And these for the shower.

LOL, I clearly have nothing to do.

As long as we aren't wearing this monstrosity:

Velvet and pink satin! THE HORROR!

And have y'all heard of this theme of monogrammed cakes? Per example:

That is just ugly. That black looks crazy on that cake.

Ok, this was supposed to be helpful, but took a trip down my twisted mind. LOL, I'm going to stop now.

I have a vision!

So Addis made an executive decision. Black satin dresses for everyone!
I have a vision, and it is pink and black. Fuschia and black. Before you all complain (Ebo especially), it can work. The decorations would most likely be black with the pink acting as an accent color.

Its easy to find decorations, favors and dresses in black and pink. She's decided on black satin, I have the idea of a fuschia sash. We can add the sash later. Or not, I mean it's just an idea. I'm also thinking gold to accent the pink and black. It can work!

So mostly the vision is pink flowers for the bouquets with a black ribbon tying them off.

Addis and I are still working on.

I have nixed the ivory lace gloves though.

New Colors and Other Updates

I haven't posted in like a week because I was conflicted over my colors. The whole thing is bizarre really, why are colors so damn important anyway? Anywho, I have decided to switch my Bridesmaids dresses to black satin. That will make it easy for everyone to find a dress that they like. We will then weave in Fuscia and any other color we see fit. But I don't really have to worry about decorations yet...wuh-huh!

I have been making some progress on the DJ end. So far I got one quote and two mixes from a DJ in NJ and I should be getting a quote and a mix from CT soon. I hope to get the DJ wrapped up before our next meeting on March 3rd.

Don't forget about our March 3rd at 4:30 pm in North Bergen meeting ladies! I will post more details on that next week. For my part, I visited the BCBG store this week and they had one black A-line dress on clerance ($120) that I liked. I will be visiting Lord and Taylors this week. I am also going to hit up David's Bridal and some other stores in Jersey with Shell and Ebony on Monday. Ok, that's all for now.
